Love You Forever by Robert Munsch

Not a new book, by any means, but I just love this book.  It has such a beautiful message that any parent or child can relate to.

When a mother holds her new baby, she sings him a lullaby.  

"I'll love you forever,

I'll like you for always,

As long as I'm living

my baby you'll be."

As he grows up, through boyhood, teenage years and as a young adult, she picks him up and sings this lullaby.

However, there comes a time, where she's too frail to do that anymore.  So the boy climbs through the window, and sings the lullaby to her.

When he gets home, he pauses at the top of the stairs.  Then he veers into his baby's room and sings the lullaby again.

It's such a beautiful book about the enduring love between a parent and child.
